I met Ben van Berkel whilst making a film for Wallpaper magazine. But I had been introduced to his work long before that. He was the creator of the symbol of my city: the Erasmusbridge. Being born-and-raised in Rotterdam, I remember clearly the impact this bridge had on the city.
